We don't hire juniors to bill out at senior rates. Every person on the team is experienced, autonomous, and trusted to make decisions. We work with clients who have real problems — and we're given the room to solve them properly.

We're remote-first with occasional client on-sites in Canberra and capital cities. You'll work across interesting problems with a team that takes quality seriously — and then closes the laptop at a reasonable hour.

Engineering Full-time

Senior AI / ML Engineer

You'll design and build the AI components at the core of our engagements — model selection, fine-tuning, inference pipelines, and integration with broader systems. Python, LLM tooling, and production mindset required.

Full Stack Developer (TypeScript / Python)

You'll build the interfaces and APIs that sit on top of our AI systems — clean, fast, and production-ready. Strong TypeScript, React, and Python required. Government security clearance or willingness to obtain is a bonus.

Common questions about joining us

Do I need a security clearance to work at BigHedi?
Not necessarily at the point of hire. We sponsor Baseline security clearances for team members who do not already hold one. If you hold an NV1 or NV2 clearance that is already a strong advantage. Some of our roles — particularly those supporting sensitive federal agency work — require clearance to be in place before engagement commences, and this is noted in the relevant job descriptions.
What is the hiring process at BigHedi?
Our process is intentionally short. We start with a brief introductory conversation (30 minutes) to understand your background and what you are looking for. If there is a mutual fit, we move to a technical conversation or practical exercise relevant to the role — not a whiteboard algorithms session. We aim to make an offer within two weeks of the first conversation. We do not have an HR layer between you and the people you would work with.
Are roles at BigHedi remote or on-site?
We are remote-first. You can work from anywhere in Australia. Occasional client on-site visits to Canberra or capital city offices are required for some engagements — typically a few days per quarter rather than a regular commute. We do not maintain a permanent office.
